What to Expect:

Providers will request imaging when necessary to ensure effective patient care. We work with several imaging facilities throughout Arizona.

Steps:

  1. During your appointment, the provider will notify you that imaging is needed.
  2. The order is sent to the imaging center contacted by your insurance within five business days from your appointment.
  3. Once the facility has received the order, they will verify your insurance and if necessary, request an authorization.
  4. The imaging facility will contact you to schedule an appointment. If you have not heard facility after five business days, please contact imaging center to find out the status.

Prior Imaging

If prior imaging has been performed, a comparison between the prior imaging and the new imaging is needed. Prior imaging performed at a different facility will need to be obtained before scheduling an imaging appointment. The new center will need the prior images for comparison. The written report from the prior imaging DOES NOT enable comparison. You will need to request the prior films (CD) to be sent to your residence or pick them up in person. The prior imaging CD will need to be brought to your imaging appointment.

Reviewing Images

Once the report is received and the images have been reviewed you will be contacted to schedule a follow-up appointment regarding the results, if necessary. If you have not been contacted to schedule a follow-up appointment five business days after your imaging appointment contact the imaging facility to verify that the report has been completed and sent.
