About Telehealth

A telehealth appointment allows you to meet with your provider on your schedule. Appointments can be conducted through the patient portal or using the Pocket Patient App.

Before Your Appointment

  1. Have your patient portal set up. *The patient portal is only accessible on Google Chrome or Firefox.*
  2. If you are going to use a mobile device, download the pocket patient app.
  3. Check and see that your microphone and camera are working.
  4. Ensure that you have a reliable internet connection.
  5. Make sure that you have a quiet place free from noise or distractions to conduct the appointment.

Follow the instructions below:

Using the Patient Portal

*Note: You will need to use Chrome or Firefox from a desktop or laptop computer with a webcam

  1. You will receive an email, as well as a text message when the provider is ready.
  2. Navigate to the Patient Portal login. Enter your Patient Portal credentials to log in.
  3. Upon login, the under Video Visit, select Join Video Visit to be connected to the Provider.

Note: The video chat link provided is valid for 5 minutes from the time the video chat is launched. If you do not join the visit within 5 minutes, then your appointment will be rescheduled.

Using The Pocket Patient App

Apple

  1. After you schedule your appointment, you will receive an email with instructions on how to download the Pocket Patient app on to your phone.
  2. Download the app from the App Store.
  3. Open the app.
  4. You will receive a pop-up asking to Allow Push Notifications. It is highly recommended to receive notifications for updates.

  1. Enter the practice URL, your username, and password to log into the app. These are the same credentials for accessing the patient portal.

  1. During the first login, you will be presented with a Telehealth Terms of Service and Privacy Policy consent form. Click Agree.

  1. Select Get Started to access the appointments screen where you can join the visit once it is initiated by the provider.

  1. When it is time for your visit, you will receive an email, as well as a text message, indicating the provider is ready. If you enabled notifications on your device, then you will also receive a notification. Click the link.

  1. Once the PocketPatient application is launched, you will be asked to authenticate with your Last Name and Date Of Birth (MM/DD/YYYY).

  1. After logging into the PocketPatient application, select Join Video Visit.

  1. You will be prompted to allow access to your microphone and speaker. Click Allow
